Insomnia
Sleep Isn’t a Luxury, It’s Your Body’s Nightly Reset Button
Early in practice I had not been treating insomnia. However, many of my patients that came to see me but never mentioned they were suffering with insomnia kept asking me what I was doing that helped them sleep better. Since insomnia can be caused by many factors including emotional stress, nutritional deficiencies, lack of exercise, side effects from medications or dehydration, I told them that I was treating their nervous system to free it up from stress so that it could function normally again.
Getting 6–8 hours of quality sleep each night is essential for optimal health, especially as we age. During sleep, your body activates critical repair mechanisms—releasing growth hormone, testosterone and melatonin to rebuild and repair muscle, lowers cortisol levels to reduce stress and inflammation, and boosts fat-burning hormones like leptin. Sleep also strengthens your immune system, supports brain detoxification, and balances hormones that regulate hunger and energy. Skimping on sleep or suffering with insomnia disrupts all of these processes, making it harder to lose fat, build muscle, stay sharp, and feel energized. Simply put, sleep isn’t a luxury—it’s your body’s nightly reset button.
Not being able to get a good night sleep can have devastating effects on our health. When we sleep our body regenerates and repairs the cells, tissues, and organs that have been working hard for us during the day.
Spinal Discs Re-Hydrate
During sleep, the spinal discs between our spinal bones become rehydrated without the weight of gravity and decompress, which can help take pressure off the spinal nerves. This is especially helpful in cases of neck and back pain and is the reason we are actually taller in the morning.
Body Detoxification
Our body also gets rid of accumulated toxins by squeezing and contracting the body’s muscles and flushes them out of our system so that we can start fresh the next day. The twitching and moving of the muscles is the reason why some of us end up in the other side of the bed in the morning!
I’ve been sleeping like a baby
“Before I came to see Dr. Hans, I was suffering with insomnia for 2 years and emotional stress. Since I’ve been getting my entrainments, I’ve been sleeping like a baby and my energy is much better. I’m less irritable and my quality of life has improved dramatically. My ability to deal with stress in my life has also improved. Everything seems easier. My intuition and ability to heal others has also improved.”

Sleeping better.
“I was skeptical about this stuff at first. My first adjustment didn’t seem especially revealing even though it was very relaxing. Later in the week, however, I noticed I was sleeping better, felt more rested and more aware. Overtime my posture has improved, and I’m more responsive to the messages my body sends my brain. Thank you, Dr. Hans, for your healing touch.”

Slept for 10 hours one night
“This kind of chiropractic care has helped me in several ways. I have back problems of long standing for which I have spent a lot of money on medical doctors – neurologists, orthopedists and sports medicine – as well as bone crunching chiropractic. None of these have had the benefits to equal Network Spinal Analysis. My neck pain and scoliosis are greatly improved.
Overall, my energy is consistently good. Relaxation, also, is better. I slept for 10 hours one night; something I’ve never done before. Perhaps best of all is my improved overall mood and mental alertness. I am extremely grateful and would recommend Dr. Hans’ treatment to anyone.”

Long sleep
“I left the doctor’s office thinking not much had happened. About half an hour later in the supermarket my sinuses began to drain. I went home having lots of energy. After working in the yard and fixing dinner, about 7 p.m. I couldn’t stay awake any longer. I went to bed and slept 12 hours.”
